Economic empowerment programme for Women and Youth groups Thika town, Kiambu County, Kenya

THIKA TOWN, KIAMBU COUNTY, KENYA

SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 2025

The economic empowerment programme for Women and Youth groups SACCOs is complementary to the elaborate and targeted policy interventions by the Kenya Kwanza Administration to stimulate grassroots economy, create jobs and income opportunities and improve the quality of life for our people.

Our support for mama mboga, boda boda riders, owners of salons and barbershops, carpenters, electricians and other micro and small-scale traders who play a critical role in running the local economies and creating jobs is unstoppable.

With increased production of food and cash crops resulting in better returns for our farmers and reduced cost of food items and other essential commodities, the Market Infrastructure Programme is underway countrywide, to avail a conducive environment for small-scale traders to transact business in dignity and safety.

In Thika Town Constituency, Gatuanyaga, Ngoingwa, Ngoliba and Madaraka modern and ESP markets are part of the 400 new markets coming up across the country.

Happy to to participate in the Thika Town Constituency Economic Empowerment Engagement for Women and Youth Groups SACCOs and held consultations with residents on priority development projects and programmes in the Constituency and Kiambu County.

Cabinet Secretaries Aden Duale (Health), Geoffrey Ruku (Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes), National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro, MPs Alice Ng'ang'a (Thika Town), Ann Muratha (Woman Representative, Kiambu), Machua Waithaka (Kiambu Town), Githua Wamacukuru (Kabete), John Kiragu (Limuru), Jane Kagiri (Woman Representative, Laikipia), Hillary Koskei (Kipkelion West), Maina Karobia (EALA), Members of Kiambu County Assembly and grassroots leaders were present.
