Implementation of the last mile connectivity programme across the 290 Constituencies, masinga machakos county

The Kenya Kwanza Administration will develop every part of the Country equitably to uplift the socio-economic status of all citizens.
To facilitate access to electricity, the Government is implementing the last mile connectivity programme across the 290 Constituencies.
In the 8 Constituencies of Machakos County, 1.4 billion shillings has been allocated to connect an additional 6,500 households. 116 million shillings will be spent on electricity connection for 500 new households in Masinga Constituency.
The Market Infrastructure Programme is in progress countrywide. 250 out of the targeted 400 modern and ESP markets are in various stages of completion to provide a dignified, secure and conducive environment for farmers, small-scale traders and their customers to transact business.
15 markets will be constructed in Machakos County, including the mega Machakos Town Market that will cost 450 million shillings and Matuu Market at a cost of 350 million shillings. The markets will have social halls, boardrooms, mothers' rooms, more and spacious stalls to accommodate more traders and ICT hubs with at least 100 computers and free Internet connectivity to facilitate e-commerce and digital jobs for the youth.
