Our country will not be built on slogans and empty rhetoric, but on tangible efforts to transform the lives of all Kenyans.
We have this week commenced the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) programme that aims at advancing 50,000 each capital injection to 70 businesses in each ward of the 1,450 Wards in Kenya to spur grassroots entrepreneurship and create jobs and income opportunities, particularly for the youth.
In Machakos County, we are constructing 15 modern and ESP markets, including Kangundo and Kivaani markets.
We are connecting 6,500 new homes to electricity in Machakos County by investing 1.4 billion shillings. 600 additional households in Kangundo Constituency will benefit from the last mile connectivity programme.
The 13Kms Kangundo-Mwala Road will be upgraded to bitumen standard at a cost of 800 million shillings, with work expected to start immediately.
