Economic empowerment program for micro and small enterprises owned by women and youth in Machakos Town Constituency, Machakos County.

The Agriculture policy reforms initiated and implemented by the Government, including the supply of subsidized fertilizer to farmers are yielding fruit.

Coffee, tea and sugarcane farmers are earning more from their daily toil. Dairy farming is now more profitable, with milk prices rising to a minimum of 50 shillings per litre.

Construction of 400 modern and fresh produce markets is in progress across the Country to provide a dignified, secure and conducive environment for farmers, small-scale traders and their customers to conduct business.

In Machakos County, construction of 15 markets is in various stages. This includes the Machakos Town Modern Market that will be constructed at a cost of 450 million shillings and Matuu Market that will cost 350 million shillings.

In the nationwide last mile electricity connectivity programme, 1.4 billion shillings has been allocated to connect an additional 6,500 households in Machakos County.
