    Mr Silvester Kasuku, MBS, CMILT is the Director General/ CEO, LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority.

    LAPSSET is charged with the responsibility of planning, coordinating and managing the implementation of the LAPSSET Corridor’s seven infrastructure Project Components.

    Mr. Kasuku has a wealth of experience and expertise in infrastructure and services management policy, which he has gained over the years through academia, research, consultancy and policy advisory services covering governments, private sector and development partners.

    Mr. Kasuku has been a renowned international Consultant in and outside Kenya where he has undertaken various assignments in Infrastructure and Transport Policy Analysis and development, Institutional and Legal Reform and studies on Infrastructure projects for close to 15 years.

    He has worked as a Consultant/ Technical Advisor with the assistance of the World Bank to steer the Kenya Roads Sector Institutional and Legal Reform between 2002 and 2008.

    Mr Kasuku was also Lead Member for the National Transport Policy Committee that formulated the Integrated National Transport Policy for Kenya, covering all modes of transport (Road, Air, Maritime, Railways and Pipeline).

    Mr Kasuku has since 2002 been an Environmental and Social Development Consultant, for The World Bank Infrastructure Projects in Kenya and Tanzania.

    He is a member of various Professional Societies-Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT), Architectural Association of Kenya, Institute of Environmental Assessment, Kenya and Kenya Institute of Planners.

    Mr Kasuku is published in both academic and professional journals.

    korirnixNixon Kiprotich Korir is the Secretary Youth Affairs under the presidency. He carries out the co-ordination of youth policies and programs through the Executive Office of The Deputy President. His priority areas include: Youth and Employment; Youth Empowerment and Participation; Youth Education and Training; Youth and Information Communication Technology; Youth and Health; Youth Crime and Drugs; Youth and Environment and Youth Leisure, Recreation and Community Service.

    The main roles of his office are: Liaising with ministries and other national agencies engaged in the implementation of youth activities and further coordinate such activities; Formulating, Implementing, coordinating, reviewing and monitoring youth development policies; Facilitating youth participation in the development processes. Maximizing interagency (ministries, counties) collaborations to utilize the significant expertise and to maximize the use of scarce resources; Finding and elevating models of "what-works" and help replicate them nationwide; Establishing and promoting standards of practice as well as monitoring all youth development activities; Developing innovative strategies and programmes that efficiently and effectively respond to the needs of youth; Integrating and harmonizing youth development and empowerment programmes at national and local levels; Mobilize and secure financial resources to the Secretary Youth Affairs office for the coordination and implementation of the youth policies and programmes; Develop and promote a policy on internship (on the job training) for all college students requiring practical training-with built in incentives for industry actors.

    The government projects and initiatives that touch directly under his office include; The Uwezo Fund; Youth Access to Government Procurement Opportunities program (The 30% rule); National Internship program; Youth Development Enterprise Fund; National Youth Service (NYS); National Youth Council (NYC); Youth Polytechnics; Internships.

    Mr. Nixon Korir is a lawyer by training successfully completed his bachelors of law (LLb. horns) graduated from the University of Nairobi School of law in 2010. He has a vast experience in youth matters having been the Secretary General of the students Organization Of Nairobi University (SONU) and a national youth leader in the 2010 referendum where he played a major role. He was the Founding Chairman of the United Republican Party (URP) and He later served as the executive director of the United Republican Party (URP) secretariat. He was the Chairman of Ni Mimi Initiative and the patron of Tegemeo Foundation.

    Mr. Korir is a distinguished member of The National Youth Sector alliance (NYSA). Member of AIESEC – Kenya and an associate member of the YMCA.

    He is a motivated, results-driven individual with hands-on approach on youth service and youthdevelopment. Resourceful and proactive, He combines effective communication skills with extensive knowledge of youth affairs to identify opportunities and deliver a satisfactory outcome for both youth and the government whilst working alone and as part of a larger team.

    shadrack mwadimeShadrack Mwadime is the Secretary of Administration in the Office of the Deputy President.

    Prior to his appointment he served as the County Commissioner of Nairobi. He has also held other senior positions in the Government as a Senior Deputy Secretary, District Commissioner and District Officer.

    Mr. Mwadime has been a public administrator for more than 20 years offering leadership and coordinating Government's development projects in various ministries.

    During his stint as a District Commissioner in various parts of the countries, he helped in mobilizing local elites to get representations into district development committees, formed and steered the education stakeholders forums, created awareness on the requisite leadership qualities and successfully oversaw the construction and commissioning of various development projects notably in Embu, Keiyo, Tinderet, Bomet and Kisii.

    He has also been part of the National Security Advisory Committee secretariat.

    Mr. Mwadime holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Moi University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Communications, Business Training Limited (UK) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Nairobi.

  • Principal Administrative Secretary, Amb. Daniel W. Wambura

    daniel wamburaAmb. Daniel Waisiko Wambura is the Principal Administrative Secretary at the Deputy President’s Office.

    He is an accomplished lawyer and a career diplomat with immense experience in Public Administration and Multilateral Diplomacy.

    Before joining the office of the Deputy President, Amb. Wambura worked as the Director of Legal Directorate in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. He has held various positions in public service which includes the State Law office, Electoral Commission of Kenya, Kenya Law Reform Commission and Advocates Complaints Commission.

    As a career diplomat, he has represented the Country in International Bodies such as the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU), Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and East Africa Community (EAC) among others. He served as the Charge D’affaires at the Kenya Embassy in Addis Ababa.

    Amb. Wambura holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Nairobi, Post graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of law and Advanced Certificate in Legislative Drafting from London University. He also holds several certificates in Public Administration and Conflict Management.

  • Westgate attack: Ruto visits victims Nairobi

    Deputy President William Ruto visits some of the victims of Saturday’s terrorist attack at the Westgate Mall hospitalised at Aga Khan and MP Shah Hospitals.

    Mr. Ruto who arrived back in the country last night from the Hague to join the President in dealing with the terrorist attack, commended the doctors and nurses at the two hospitals and other medical facilities in the city.

    The Deputy President was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary for Health James Macharia, his Labour counterpart Kazungu Kambi, Adan Mohammmed of Industrialization and leaders of Majority in National Assembly and in the Senate Aden Duale and Kithure Kindiki respectively.
