Deputy President William Ruto meets Commission on Administrative Justice led by their chairman Mr. Otiende Amolo - Picture
Deputy President William Ruto has called for synergy among different commissions in the country saying they should work together to deliver service to the people.
He said although the independence of commissions must be respected, there should be synergy among established institutions.
“Even if a leader in Government does not agree with the chairman of a commission at personal level, they are obliged to give them (commission) tools to perform their duties."
The Deputy President was speaking in his office when he received members of the Commission on Administrative Justice led by their chairman Mr. Otiende Amolo who briefed him on the commission activities .
Mr. Ruto pointed out that Kenyans expected commissions to perform well and avoid engaging in activities that did not advance their mandates.
He asked public institutions to appreciate roles of oversight bodies like the Ombusman or the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC) in the prudent management of public resources saying well intentioned criticism should be taken positively. “Such criticism improves the quality of service,” he added.
Mr. Ruto pledged the Government’s support in facilitating the operation of the Ombudsman and other commissions but they should operate within set budgets.
