Deputy President William Ruto in Angola for Great Lakes Security Summit

Deputy President William Ruto represented President Uhuru Kenyatta in Agola

Africa has demonstrated it can chart it's own destiny. Interventions by the African Union is a pointer that the continent can provide home grown solutions to problems facing it. Since majority decisions by the UN are on Africa, we urge reforms in the world body to give Africa more representation and say in its affairs.

The Great Lakes meeting is reviewing the status of peace and security in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, South Sudan and Central African Republic; considering progress in implementing regional and international commitments to secure the region; exploring ways to curb renewed hostilities and dealing with disarmed fighters.
